Churchill Lecture Series
Each year a number of talented individuals pass through Churchill during the polar bear migration. In 2004, we started to enlist the help of these people through a free lecture series for residents and tourists. The 2005 lectures were held in the Civic Centre Theatre; each of the six addresses was to a full audience. This year’s lecture series will include, once again, renowned scientists, photographers, adventurers and other knowledgeable polar bear enthusiasts. Last year’s audience was in excess of 1,600. Each of these people walked away with a much better understanding of the incredible world in which the polar bear lives and what we must do to maintain a healthy Arctic environment.
