Seal! A meal. Polar bears look at seals the way steak eaters look at cattle. Dinner on the hoof—or in this case, on the flipper.

Polar Bear Wanders Miles Inland

Wait a minute, these are fish, not seals! A lone polar bear showed up along a river more than 150 kilometers inland from Hudson Bay in the First Nations community of Shamattawa. The rare sighting was the first that villagers remember.

A senior wildlife official said that the young bear will probably head north to the Churchilll area in the next month or so to wait for freeze up so he can once again hunt seals.
