FNTBA also supports PBI’s other Churchill-based initiatives, including PBI Field Ambassadors who provide free on-buggy lectures and PBI fall-edition newsletter distribution. In addition, FNTBA makes a cash donation each year to PBI in the form of one-year memberships to each of its Specialist and Enthusiast level guests. In 2008, they provided a prize of four free trips to Churchill for our 2008 Project Polar Bear Contest winners, a $20,000 value.

Lowepro
A key corporate sponsor of PBI, Lowepro is internationally known for its purpose-built, professional-grade camera bags, backpacks, shoulder bags, and other protective cases. Founded more than 40 years ago by photographers, photo professionals, inventors, designers, and lovers of the natural world, Lowepro takes the words, "The Trusted Original," to heart. Lowepro underwrites the PBI Polar Population Studies and sponsors our annual Project Polar Bear contest.
In addition, Lowepro has set a corporate standard by designing two collections of bags made from up to 95% Cyclepet®, a 100% post-consumer recycled material. While thousands of people are ardent recyclers, the fact is that unless these recycled materials are used for new products, the recycling doesn’t help all that much. The key is for all of us to shop carefully and purchase products made of recycled products whenever possible. Lowepro understands this act of stewardship and strives to tread more lightly on the planet by using materials that would otherwise end up in warehouses or landfills. Its support of PBI helps protect, preserve, and create awareness about fragile places, creatures, and communities.
Volkswagen Japan
Volkswagen Japan coordinated its PBI sponsorship with the launch of its new, energy-efficient Polo vehicle. In addition to a monetary contribution to help underwrite PBI's research and education efforts, the company has launched an environmental awareness campaign, Think Blue.
