I think I smell dinnerI Polar bears can smell a seal from up to two miles away. Can you smell your favorite fast food from that distance?

Mother Nursing Her Cubs

Polar Bear on the Tundra

Our morning began with a conference call for 2nd and 3rd graders in Virginia Beach to answer their questions about polar bears and hopefully we shared some of the inspiration we feel. It's amazing we can share our wild classroom with kids halfway across North America.

A sow nursing cubs, how great is that, what more can we say … it just keeps getting better. We saw tundra swans for the first time and caribou running across the tundra. Our awesome guide Dave, taught us about caribou moss, snow willow, crow and bear berry plants and even a rhododendron. Who knew how diverse the polar bear’s ecosystem was! Our afternoon was spent watching the cubs explore their surroundings, including our buggy.

We ended our day with an inspiring PBI presentation outlining all the tools, resources, and success stories from fellow Arctic Ambassadors that we can take home with us.

It has been a long, but wonderful day, and we are still looking forward to Skyping with PBI’s President, Robert Buchanan tomorrow. Watch out Thursday, here we come!
