Project Category:
Zero Waste
Project Outline:

Our goal is to plant 2010 trees around the greater Columbus area by the end of the year. We are collecting tree donations from local nurseries and raising money to purchase more trees. The focus is on planting trees near highways and roads to help reduce the carbon emitted by cars. In one year a single tree can absorb all the carbon that a car releases from driving 26,000 miles. Mission displace as many cars as possible to save the polar bears, commence!

Along with planting trees to help the environment we are going to collect pledges to help the environment. Making a simple change in your diet one day a week can have a significant impact on the environment. We’ll ask people to pledge to do meatless Monday for one month (four weeks). This is just four days a month someone has to alter their diet. One day of eating a plant based diet over a meat based diet saves 7.5 pounds of CO2, so just one pledge will save 30 pounds of CO2!
