Tundra Connections

Tundra Connections is Wild!

Join us for live broadcasts. You watch from inside. Wild polar bears watch from outside on their tundra home.

PBI’s mobile classroom, Tundra Buggy® One, prowls the tundra during the polar bear migration near Churchill, Manitoba. Polar bear scientists and educators share their knowledge and talk with students from the safety of this remarkable classroom. The program includes webcasts and video conferences that focus on polar bears and climate change.

You can:

  • See live camera and video clips of polar bear behavior in a natural setting.
  • Ask the experts questions and get answers in real time.

Curriculum

  • Targets secondary schools and universities, but easily adapts to elementary students or general audiences
  • Offers complete challenge-based lesson plans with pre- and post-conference activities available

Video Conferences and Webcasts
Sessions are available for school groups, zoos, green clubs, or business and community leaders—the bigger the audience, the better.

  • Video conferences must be pre-scheduled. Webcasts are open to anyone who logs in.
  • Sessions are archived for later viewing on the Apple Learning Interchange
