Polar bear burnout? Maybe because polar bears have become the charismatic symbol for climate-threatened animals and habitats used by so many different organizations, some people are confused. What’s urgent and what isn’t? What’s fact and what’s fiction?

You’re in the right place. PBI has forged relationships with preeminent scientists, biologists, and other professionals who are primarily engaged in studying and documenting polar bears and their arctic habitat.

Our mutual goal is to disseminate only fact-based, scientifically-gathered, peer-reviewed information to assist the global community in understanding and evaluating the true status and condition of polar bear populations and their arctic habitat, as well as the impact of human-caused and natural-occurring events on their survival.

PBI has been looking after polar bears since 1992. They’re our sole focus.
