My name is Crystal Almdal, and I’m going into grade eleven. During the summer I go to my cabin, where I interact with my family and nature. It’s situated between Patricia Beach and Grand Beach. I’m an only child, but have a best friend that’s like a sister to me. This summer I’ll be getting my drivers licence, which I’m super excited for. In school I really enjoy my math courses. For some reason I just love doing math. I also love to play sports, like soccer, basketball, track and volleyball. You could say I’m some what of a jock.

I know that the world isn’t perfect, and never will be. I know that there are a lot of things we can do to make it more enjoyable; like recycling or picking up someone else’s garbage. I’m well aware that humans affect not only other people, but animals, and our environment as well. I want to go to Churchill because I’d like to know more of how I could help make our world a better place for everyone.

Manitoba is very lucky to have polar bears because they are such beautiful animals and I’m proud to have them in my province. I’m looking forward to find out what my friends and I can do to make sure we always have bears here.
