Hi, I’m Hayley and I’m 17 years old. I will be a senior at Broadneck High School in Annapolis, MD. For my school I play on the varsity lacrosse team, and played on the soccer team. I am very creative and really love taking 3-Dimensional art classes at school, along with taking pictures. I am also a triplet, which is pretty fun because there is always something going on at my house! My brother Connor and sister Emma and I have founded a company called Polar Bear Nation. We design and sell clothes to spread awareness about the plight of the polar bears.

I care about polar bears and conservation because I simply want what I grew up with to be around for my kids to grow up with. I want future generations to be able to see a real polar bear, not just from learn about them through a textbook. I care about conservation because I want to try and correct the harm humans have done to the environment. I know the small things I can do now will make a much larger impact on earth, people, and animals.

In five years, the world will be more conscious of how they are directly effecting the environment and animals. More steps will be taken to reduce pollution, global warming and our carbon footprint. I believe that everyone will realize the major importance of going green and trying to lessen his or her own individual impact on the environment.

I want to be able to merge something I care about and something I love to do to make a difference. I am planning to print a book on recycled paper that will show the pictures that I have taken on this trip and also include tips and information on how to help save the polar bear. I can sell these books in places that participate in eco-friendly actions, and use the money raised to buy trees. After I raise money to plant the trees from the book sales, I will get a group of kids from my former elementary school to come out and help me plant the trees. When we have the tree-planting day, I can also give them a short presentation about what they can do to help save the polar bears, and reduce their own carbon footprint.
